10 x 10 -The Stones by Kruger |
 |
| |
| Dear , |
| |
| Last year Sebastian Kruger released a remarkable four panel piece, that has since then become legendary amongst his collectors and Rolling Stones fans everywhere. That work is the quickly sold out "40 X 40". |
| |
| Sebastian has focused on the Stones as a career long study, so it was no surprise to anyone who knows his work that "40x40" would possess such fun and profound insights in the distinct personalities of the four Stones. To any fan of the band this work was unforgettable and irresistible. |

| But none of us could have ever predicted this latest work, "10x10". Sebastian's latest work is his outrageous follow up to "40x40", portraying the "boys" at age 10. |
| |
| Based on actual photographs of Charlie, Mick, Keith, and Ronnie, Sebastian has found the essential personalities that run deeper than their celebrity personas and are at the very core of these four boys that we would all recognize as the future Rolling Stones. |

| Only Kruger could top Kruger! |

Sebastian Kruger, draws for his brush |
| Dear Kruger Gallery, |
| |
| Sebastian Kruger's subjects at times transend "pop icon", as they are the very archetype. This is such the case with Krugers latest subject Clint Eastwood. |
| |
| The choice to paint Eastwood is not a casual one. As Sebastian has more then just a passing interest in the genre of the Western. For him this is apassion. Sebastian is a walking encyclopedia on the subject, with a film library that would be the envy of any buff. Sebastian has seen most every Western numerous times, and is quick to quote dialogue or play 6 degrees of Western films. Really, don't get him started. |
| |
| During our recent visit to Sebastian's home in Hanover Germany, he shared some thoughts on his recent subject. |

Why "The Good"? To many, the greatest Western made with Eastwood was The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (Buono, il Brutto, il Cattivo, Il). To some the greatest Western ever made period. In the film as we met the three main charectors, Eastwood was introduced with an on screen caption as "The Good". |
|
|
|
|
| |
| "Eastwood, did far more then play the American Cowboy, he embodied the spirit. As an actor he fought the temptations of following the mainstream. He listened to his heart before the words of others." He went on to say "Fashion as well has never been an influence. If he let it be, great works like Million Dollar Baby, Flags of Our Fathers, and many others would never have been produced." |
| |
| As a painter Sebastian is unique in his method. When he approaches a subject he does more then try to represent them in detail, he steps inside their skin and embodies them. Through this he finds the truths that need to be lived and discovered about his subjects. In regards to this latest work, he had this to say, "Eastwood always stayed the Icon of the lonesome cowboy. When I painted him, I felt this very profoundly. He's the face of the free-minded man of the west." He followed up by saying "I loved painting him, he's always been a favorite of mine. But now I feel more then ever that he is one of the most outstanding and important actors/producers the movies has ever had." |
| |
| I'd say the only thing that speaks louder then that, is the painting itself. |
| |
| All the best. |
